Easy ways to get involved in Adelaide Solar City
We’ve put together a range of special offers to help households within the Adelaide Solar City trial area to reduce their impact on the environment.
But hurry, offers are limited and only available to eligible households in the Cities of Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully and Playford, and Adelaide City Council.
Offer 1: Smart Rates Trial
Join Origin’s Smart Rates trial* by signing up to the Smart Rates Adelaide Solar City energy plan and access a range of exclusive pricing plans which can help you to save money and combat climate change.
You’ll receive a free smart meter* installed at no cost, which will measure your electricity usage in 30 minute intervals^. You’ll also receive access to view your electricity usage online. By monitoring your energy usage and estimated greenhouse gas emissions online, and by change the time you use electricity, you could cut your energy bills. Click here for details.
* Terms and conditions and eligibility and availability criteria apply and will be explained by an Origin representative at the time of your enquiry. ^Installation of a type IV 'smart' meter is an eligibility criterion for participation. Depending on configuration of your wiring and setup of Smart Meter, energy usage displayed may only be from the power grid to your home, and surplus solar generated power exported from your home. Total solar electricity generated and total household usage may not be available. Not available to customers who are or have been participating in the Adelaide Solar City Project. Offer 2: Home Energy Measure Study
We’re looking for 300 households to help us learn more about how people use energy in their homes for the Adelaide Solar City home energy measure study*.
By participating, you’ll receive a free smart meter* valued at $250, installed at no cost. Plus, Origin will apply a credit on your electricity bill worth $50 after the first six months of supply if you have returned the questionnaire within the required timeframe, and then a $100 credit on your electricity bill at the end of the trial. All you need to do is sign up to the Home Energy Measure Adelaide Solar City energy plan and remain on that energy plan until 30 June 2013, and participate in some ongoing research to help us learn more about your energy usage. Offer 3: GreenPower Products
Origin offers Government accredited GreenPower products to help you reduce the impact of your energy consumption.
GreenPower is Government accredited renewable electricity generated from a source built after 1996. Only those products that meet the stringent rules and guidelines of the Government’s GreenPower programme can carry the accredited GreenPower tick.
