Home Energy Assistance Program

Free help to cut your home’s energy use and power bills.

The Home Energy Assistance Program provides households on low incomes, including new arrivals to Australia, with free help to use energy more efficiently and save money on their power bills.

When you join the Home Energy Assistance Program* you’ll receive a home energy assessment to help you understand how much and where you are using energy in the home.

We’ll also provide you with energy saving equipment to help you use less energy, and if needed, provide you with information about financial counsellors and referrals to appropriate social support services.

Am I eligible for the Home Energy Assistance Program?

To be eligible for the program you need to:

  • live in the Cities of Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully, Playford or Adelaide City Council area and
  • be eligible for, or hold either a Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card or a Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card.
  • agree to take part in research to help understand how much energy your household saves by taking part in the program.

You don’t need to be an Origin electricity customer to participate in the Program.
