Big Switch Projects is offering home energy audits to households within the trial area that can help you to save up to $200 a year on your electricity bill*.

What are the benefits of having a home energy audit done?

There are many factors that affect energy use in the home, including insulation, windows, draughts, heating, cooling, hot water systems and major appliances. Our trained home energy consultants can prepare a personalised home energy savings report that sets out the things you can do around your home to improve your energy efficiency.  So you can save money on your energy bill, and make your home more comfortable.

How is the home energy audit conducted?

Big Switch Project’s consultants will visit your home to conduct a thorough assessment of your household’s energy use. A typical energy consultation lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the size and layout of your home. Within 10 working days you’ll receive your personalised report containing:

• A prioritised list of all major opportunities for improving the energy efficiency of your home.
• Recommendations for other energy-saving measures that can be implemented at low cost or free of charge.

PLUS
Aas part of the audit, if you’re currently using incandescent light bulbs, we’ll also supply and install six compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) free of charge. If you don’t have a massaging, water-efficient showerhead installed we’ll help you do this as well – also free of charge#.     The free CFLs and showerhead can help reduce your energy bills.

The audit costs $90, but you can save even more money by booking consultations for the same day with two or more of your neighbours. You’ll each receive a discount of $10 off each consultation.
