Origin will be running a voluntary Smart Energy trial* to help us use energy more efficiently.  Participating in these trials is voluntary and you can opt out at any time.

Origin's new electricity tariffs, which will be available over the coming months, could see you make real savings on your electricity bills when you shift your energy usage to certain times of the day.

As a thank you, every customer that takes part in the trial will receive a free energy efficiency pack worth more than $80 which includes:

• 6 energy efficient light globes
• 1 AAA-rated water saving showerhead

You can save up to $100 on your energy costs per year by replacing your existing incandescent light globes and old showerhead with the energy efficient light globes and water saving showerhead. 

Dynamic Saver 

By making a few changes to the times you use high energy appliances like your pool pump, air conditioner and washing machine, you can take advantage of special off-peak electricity tariffs.

• Pay a cheaper rate for electricity all year round, except during 2pm-8pm on 10 critical peak days per year
• The critical peak days will be advised in advance. On these peak days the electricity rate is higher overall on this plan potential savings are greater.
• Choose from two different options, dependent on your anticipated level of usage during peak days.
