We're currently working on a new solar PV offer which we hope to be available shortly.
We'll provide details here on the website as soon as its ready.
In the meantime, here's some information that may help you to understand more about the benefits of solar power.
How does solar electricity work?
The energy from the sun is captured through photovoltaic cells (solar panels) that are typically mounted on the side of your roof that has the most exposure to the sun (north or west).
With a solar electricity system, your home remains connected to the main electricity grid that powers your area. Any electricity that your system generates above what you use is fed back into the grid. When you require more electricity than you are producing, your system imports it from the grid automatically.
What are Solar Credits?
The Solar Credits scheme replaced the Solar Homes and Communities Plan rebate scheme for solar electricity systems which ended June 9 2009.
Unlike the previous rebate arrangement the solar credit scheme is not be means tested, and is available to businesses as well as households and community groups.
Under the Solar Credits Scheme, small generation unit customers receive 5 times the number of RECs for the first 1.5 kW of system capacity.Click here for more information about the Solar Credit’s Scheme.
Feed in Tariff
Feed-in tariffs (FITs) reimburse you for any power your solar electricity system feeds back into the grid.
The South Australian Government introduced a solar feed-in law to pay$ 0.44 per unit of electricity (kilowatt-hour, kWh), to households and small customers who feed solar electricity into the grid.
The law came into effect on 1 July 2008, and will extend for 20 years.
